On Thursday March 14, 2019, Officers,members and Auxiliary Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7402 were joined by members of Boy Scout Troop 353 {Powder Springs. GA.} and Troop 23 {Rockmart,GA.} ceremoniously retiring 75 United States of American flags.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

a poem by 19 year old Ms.Riley Jo Jones of Bremen. This is an exceptional young lady. She has a deep love and respect for all Veterans and does all she can do, to show that she cares. Riley is not only a member of Auxiliary VFW Post 7402 but of American Legion Post 264 in Mableton, Ga. She also volunteers at Trinka Davis Veterans Village in Carrolton, Ga. once a month calling Bing, on a Bi-Monthly bases she prepares meals for veterans at various locations.


Georgia National Guard Apache Troop 1/108 Cavalry Ball

On Friday VFW Post 7402's Sr. Vice Commander James Watson joined Lt.Col. Scott G. Jackals and Command Sgt. Major Jason D. York at the 1st/108th Cavalry Ball held at the Marriott in Buckhead.

Dynamic K9-Service Dog

Recently VFW Post 7402 along with its Auxiliary launch a joint project to provide a Service Dog for a local Veteran. Army Specialist and member of The Veterans’ of Foreign Wars Post 7402 Matthew McElwee’s. Matthew served eight years in the U.S. Army from 1996 until 2004. With a tour in Iraqi, during Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2004.

WW Jones Cookout

Volunteers for the WW Jones Cookout this Saturday, May 22,2021, must be fully vaccinated and be able to provide proof or they will not be able to participate in the event. The Georgia War Veterans Home does not want to take a chance with any of the Veterans there getting sick.

FEMA Funeral Reimbursement Program

The FEMA Funeral Reimbursement Program will launch in a week or two. FEMA is reimbursing up to $7,000.00 for COVID-19 funerals to any family member who paid for a funeral. Please keep funeral documentation.

Update to VFW Foundation Post Pandemic Relief Grant eligibility criteria

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, VFW Posts have been severely impacted in their ability to cover operating expenses through conventional means such as canteen sales and fundraising events. To address the challenge, in August 2020 the VFW Foundation earmarked $680,000 for the VFW Foundation Post Pandemic Relief Grant (PPRG). Eligible Posts that own or lease their own Post Homes may apply for a grant of up to $2,500.
